Dhimmi Bloomberg’s aides provided political support for Ground Zero Mosque….

Friday, December 24th, 2010

The NY Daily News has exposed more of the dirty deeds and cover-ups that surround the Ground Zero Mosque.

“Mayor Bloomberg’s top deputies went to great lengths to help the developers of a planned mosque near Ground Zero – even drafting a letter to the community board for them.

A flurry of emails released by City Hall yesterday revealed the coaching Hizzoner’s brass gave to the imam pushing to build the mosque, Feisal Abdul Rauf.”

One of these deputies is Fatima Shama who  was first mentioned by this blogger when she represented Mayor Bloomberg at  at a screening for “Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Think” in November of 2009.

Her bio reads: Fatima Shama as Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, Commissioner Shama currently serves as Senior Education Policy Advisor in the Mayor’s Office, where she previously served as the Health Literacy and Language Access Coordinator.

No  film was taken of the speakers that evening, there is, however,  a written report  here.

We also noted later that one of the organizations that had promoted the screening that evening was Intersections, which  just happened to have employed the drunken cameraman, Michael Enright, who made a pathetic attempt at slashing a muslim taxi driver in August of 2010. Of course, once the media was aware of his association with  Intersections, the stuperous cameraman and his very unclear motives …..other than being blind drunk,  conveniently disappeared from the media; no longer a useful anti-American tool.

We next saw Fatima Shama at the Annual Muslim Day Parade 2010, representing Mayor Bloomberg.

As the Mayor’s representative she spoke at the parade :

Seems Bloomberg doesn’t bother to show up at these events, just Fatima Shama,  so we are not surprised that there has been coaching via emails  or favoritism of any sort when it came to  the Community Board and the Land Commissions SUPPORT of the Ground Zero Mosque.

More from the NY Daily News:

“Another email shows that Immigrant Affairs Commissioner Fatima Shama expedited a temporary public assembly permit for the group to conduct prayers in January at the site, known as 51 Park.

City Hall says it is the job of the community and immigrant affairs commissioners to assist community groups, including drafting letters for them. Officials noted Bloomberg has always been in favor of building the mosque near Ground Zero.”

And , of course, we mustn’t forget that since 2009 the NYC Police Department  has had its very own  Muslim Chaplain

Khalid Latif http://www.templeofunderstanding.org/images/pictures/events/KhalidLatifNYPD.jpg

As Khalid pointed out….a steady plan to ‘educate’….(sort of like creeping sharia)…..And back in 2002, you can even catch a familiar name here (that’s right…. Adil Almontaser)  as plans to form the NYC Muslim Police Officers Association (AMLEOA) were announced in 2002 and who have stated more recently in 2010:

AMLEOA and its Members Fully Support the establishment of a Muslim Community Center near Ground Zero.

Muslims were not only victims of the terrorist attacks

but were also first responders!!!!!

Let’s Never forget that!!!!!!!!

.

So what’s next, Bloomy? Transparency? Conflict of interest? Be a man, not a tool.

Own up to your abuse of office that has characterized this whole dishonest affair and read more from Atlas Shrugs here.

What Do We Do with Muslims Born Here?

Friday, December 24th, 2010

leave Islam - Stop Islamization of America campaign

In response to my article If You Knew Islam Like I Know Islam, a visitor from the state of Georgia asks, “[I]f ur so opposed to Muslims coming from other countries and living here wt do u say to those Muslims born and raised here in the united states (or even in Europe) where should they go[?]“

First, we need to secure the borders, otherwise deporting undesirables will be a futile exercise. Criminals, the diseased, Communists, anarchists, and those who want to overthrow our form of government, i.e. devout Muslims, should be barred from entering our country. Devout Muslim immigrants who are here should be deported.

As to Muslims born here, let me answer by saying it depends.

  1. If they are devout Muslims, they should be offered a cash award to go to an Islamic country that is more suitable to their beliefs. Our form of government and society is inimical to Islamic beliefs.
  2. If the Muslims in question are only Muslims because they were born to Muslim parents and do not want to be Muslims, we should offer them sanctuary as advertised by the Stop Islamization of America campaign. See the ad above.
  3. If the Muslims in question are converts, there are two kinds:

    1. Women who converted because they married Muslim men.

      • If the man is a foreigner, he should be deported to his native land. We offer the woman a choice of renouncing Islam and staying here or taking an award and leaving with her husband.
      • If the husband was born here, we offer him and his wife option 1 above.

    2. Inmates in prison who converted because they hate this country. These should be immediately deported because they are more dangerous than non-Muslim criminals.
  4. If converts refuse to leave voluntarily, they should be enrolled in an intervention to deprogram them and turn them back into normal human beings.

American-born Muslims may stay here if they take an oath of allegiance to our country and renounce Islam. This is not about being anti-religion. I have no problem with a million Buddhists or Zoroastrians being in our country because those religions do not require that its practitioners change our way of life.

Of course, I haven’t answered the question of where to send Muslims born here who refuse the take an award to leave voluntarily and refuse to renounce Islam. Just as the American Colonization Society in 1821 helped found the country of Liberia, we need to found a country to which American-born Muslims who refuse to renounce Islam can be sent. As outlandish and outrageous as this may sound now, it will be welcomed as a great idea after another few 9/11s.

And even without extremist attacks, we cannot remain a free country and have millions of Muslims running around demanding accommodations to their faith.

Pope records special Christmas message for the BBC

Pope Benedict has recorded a Christmas message at the Vatican specially for Britain following his successful state visit to the country in September, according to the BBC. It is the first time the pope has addressed a Christmas message specifically to one of the countries visited during the year, the state-funded broadcaster said.

The recording will be broadcast on Christmas Eve in the “Thought for the Day” slot on the BBC Radio 4 current affairs programme “Today.”

“Thought for the Day” lasts about three minutes and has a regular place on the morning programme broadcast Monday to Saturday. It offers a personal perspective, from leaders of a variety of religious denominations, on topical issues.

“It’s significant that the Pope has chosen ‘Thought For The Day’ to give his first personally scripted broadcast — and what better time to do so than on the eve of the biggest celebration on the Christian calendar,” Gwyneth Williams, controller of BBC Radio 4, said on the broadcaster’s website.

What the UK Poll Means to Us

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

AFTER DECADES of bending over backwards to welcome Muslims into their country and conceding to their “special needs,” what has been the result? A poll of the children of Muslim immigrants shows they are more orthodox than their parents, less willing to integrate into British society, less tolerant of non-Muslims, and more violent than their parents.

Just like everywhere else in the world, appeasing the holders of a supremacist doctrine is good for the supremacists and bad for the appeasers.

Another poll shows that British citizens have intuited something is wrong. Seventy-five percent of them think Islam has negatively contributed to British society. And yet very few know much about Islam. A large percentage of them didn’t want to know more about Islam — at least from Muslims.

Forty percent of British citizens didn’t know who Allah was, and thirty-six percent didn’t know who Mohammad was.

The Muslims’ answer to this information is to step up the disinformation campaign. The Islamic Education and Research Academy thinks that because these negative opinions about Islam were formed with not much knowledge about Islam, it is an opportunity for them to positively influence non-Muslims with a public relations campaign.

A better answer is to promote an international campaign to get non-Mulsims to read the Quran. British citizens may not know much about Islam, but the Muslim population in Britain is so high, they can see it is having a bad influence on their society, perhaps without knowing why. Their ignorance about Islamic doctrine makes them easier to manipulate. Reading the Quran would innoculate them against the kind of disinformation campaigns orthodox Muslims are famous for.

We must find a way to convince our fellow non-Muslims to take the plunge and read the Quran. Getting a smallpox vaccination may hurt a little, but then you can spend the rest of your life immune to it.

Ecumenical news agency ENInews suspended, editors removed

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

genevaEcumenical News International, an award-winning agency reporting on religion and based at the World Council of Churches (WCC), has been temporarily closed and had its two top editors removed, one of them said on Monday. The decision, taken at a meeting of its executive committee last week, comes after the Geneva-based WCC cut the agency’s funding and its former head criticised its coverage.

The suspension and leadership changes led to the resignation of the ENInews president and its treasurer, both senior figures in Scandinavian Protestant churches, a report by the agency said. WCC officials said the agency was not being closed but would resume some time in 2011 with one part-time editor.

(Photo: Geneva, April 29, 2008/Valentin Flauraud)

Earlier this year the WCC, which has been ENInews’s main funder and in whose headquarters the agency was based, said it was reducing its financial support for 2011 by over 50 percent.

The WCC is an umbrella body linking Protestant and Orthodox churches around the globe. An acting spokesman for the organisation told Reuters on Monday that the funding decision was “part of a broad redeployment of WCC resources” and had been a “key element in decisions related to the re-shaping of ENInews.”

The cash cut came in the wake of complaints by the WCC’s former Kenyan general secretary Samuel Kobia of “inaccuracy” and “sensationalism” in coverage of the body by ENInews — which had run reports from an authoritative German religious news service that he had falsely claimed an academic degree. WCC sources said at the time that the affair effectively blocked Kobia from seeking a second four-year term.

ENInews, which ran a network of some 50 correspondents around the globe, had also angered some WCC officials by revealing the list of candidates to replace Kobia in advance of a meeting of the body’s central committee in 2009.

According to a story about the closing on its website, “the financial instability for ENInews began on 6 May when the WCC wrote to ENInews president (Anders) Gadegaard announcing a cutback in its financial support for the agency in 2011.  Two days later in Washington DC, ENInews won an award from the Associated Church Press for being the best news agency covering religion, and another top award for courageous reporting related to the WCC, as well as two other awards for feature stories published.”

Thinking Outside the Argument Box

Monday, December 20th, 2010

I AM CONSTANTLY imploring you to stop using an “either-or” approach to educating your fellow non-Muslims about Islam. If what you’re doing isn’t working, try something else. But what? I thought we could start collecting some ideas. We’ll keep them all collected on a single post: How to Think Outside the Persuasion Box so when you feel like you’re getting nowhere with someone, you can go to one place to get ideas.

There are many books on the topic of persuasion, and many books on arguing. But these are dealing with two different things. Argumentation is about logic and facts and evidence, and only works on the audience listening to the argument. Persuasion includes facts and logic but includes something more: The human element. Emotions, culturally-specific triggers, rapport, memories, allegiances, feelings, psychological factors, associations, subliminal influences, etc. These elements of persuasion work directly on the person you’re talking to, and work best one-on-one, which is usually what most of us are doing when we talk about Islam — we’re talking personally to one person at a time.

I recommend studying persuasion rather than argumentation (unless you’re a public speaker).

If you’re arguing with someone and feel stuck, it’s time to add something else to your side. You’re arguing on a level field — argument against argument, fact against opposing fact, logic against logic. The effort often feels futile. The argument goes round and round and doesn’t seem to get anywhere. When this happens, add something extra to your side. Add something outside the argument box.

You can find good ideas in books on persuasion. One such book is Get Anyone to Do Anything and Never Feel Powerless Again by David J. Lieberman (also available on audio). Here are a few ideas quoted from the book:

1. Studies show that when our self-awareness is heightened we are more easily influenced. This suggests that when we can see ourselves — literally — in a reflection, we are more persuadable. Having a conversation by a mirrored wall or reflective panel will increase your chances of influencing the person.

2. Reciprocal persuasion: Researchers found that if someone had previously persuaded you to change your mind, he would be more inclined to reciprocate by changing his attitudes about something when you ask. Similarly, if you had resisted his appeal and not changed your mind, he would often “reciprocate” by refusing to change his own mind. You can use this very easily to your advantage by saying, “I thought about what you said regarding [any previous conversation where he was explaining his point of view] and I’ve come to agree with your thinking. You’re right.”

3. Studies conclude that when a person holds an opposing view, you should adopt a two-sided argument. When you’re dealing with a stubborn person, we can likely assume that he’s based his opinion, at least in part, on fact. Therefore, a one-sided argument will appear to him as if you are not taking his thinking into consideration. Consequently, in this instance, present both sides (following the rule of primacy, be sure to present your side first) and you will find him more malleable in his thinking.

I quoted all three of the ideas above from a single page of Lieberman’s 180-page book. As you can see, these kinds of ideas might help you get outside of a deadlock. They can help you continue the fight, but in a new way. They can make your conversations more interesting and challenging for you. They can make your efforts feel less futile. And they will increase your success rate.

I’m challenging all of us to do what the teacher in Freedom Writers did, and when you can’t seem to reach someone — when you seem unable to make your message penetrate — that you find a way rather than simply blaming your listener. Find a way around the impasse. Use ideas from books on salesmanship, persuasion, and influence to help you get around the obstacles interfering with your goal.

And when you find something that works well, please share your story with us on Talk About Islam Among Non-Muslims.
