Arab Spring into a Nuclear Winter?
Arab Spring into a Nuclear Winter?

I warned readers in my article of June 2008, that if Obama became President he would be such an incompetent moron that his actions would drive the price of gold to ,000 an ounce.

When I wrote that article gold was trading at 883.50 per ounce. How close did gold get to that prediction? Just a few months ago it was a hundred dollars shy of the mark.

I say give the idiot another four years and gold should surpass the ,000 mark.

Here’s something that should help the gold price peak:

Haaretz Daily Newspaper,
22 Nov 2011,
Arab Spring will just bring upon Islamist dictatorships

The United Nations Development Programme’s 2002 Arab Human Development Report stated that “deeply rooted shortcomings” existed in Arab countries. In other other words, Arab societies were sick. According to the report, this sickness was reflected in the lack of “respect for human rights and freedoms,” the status of Arab women, and the poor state of “knowledge acquisition and its effective utilization.”

The follow-up report in 2003 stated: “True democracy is absent and desperately needed. The educational system is severely retarded; schools produce ignorant young men and women. Most of the [Arab] intellectuals] realize, even if they deny it, that most of what was said in the most recent Arab Human Development Report is true.

So if you were thinking that the so-called Arab Spring was going to fix all that, well, you’d better think again. It looks like the Arab Spring will be followed by an Arab Winter. On second thought, this is a development that was entirely predictable: The Islamists are going to inherit the mantle of the dictators.

Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in Tunisia, Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and Muammar Gadhafi in Libya were corrupt dictators who outlived their days. They all suppressed the Islamic movements in their respective countries, and were all thus on the side of the seculars in their own perverse way. The same holds true for Syria’s Bashar Assad, whose father, Hafez, killed some 20,000 people in the city of Hama in 1982, quelling a rebellion by the Moslem Brothers. Now, his son, Bashar, no less ruthless, seems to be about to go the way of Ben Ali, Mubarak and Gadhafi.

But who is going to win the elections when they take place – in Egypt, in Libya and eventually in Syria?

We already have a preview: In Tunisia, the country that had been the most secular and westernized of the Arab states, the election was won by Ennahda, the Islamic party, with the advocates of a secular Tunisia left far behind.

The western media, in an attempt to put a good face on what has clearly been a disappointing outcome, insists on calling Ennahda a “mildly Islamic party.” But the facts are there for all to see: Tunisia is coming under Islamic rule. And there is no reason to expect a different outcome in Egypt, Libya or Syria, when elections are held there.

A wave of Islamic rule, with all it entails, is sweeping across the Arab world. It will replace secular dictatorships with Islamic ones. We should have expected nothing else.

Observers may fool themselves into believing that the Islamic parties contesting the elections in the Arab countries are “mildly” Islamic, or “moderate” Islamists, but their leaders are neither mild nor moderate.

Soon Islamist extremists running these new Arab governments will be seeking nuclear weapons. Will Obama handle them as he handled Ahmadinejad and Iran? Will he commit America to the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons as he pledged in Prague in April of 2009?

A 20-Year Plan To Overthrow The U.S. Government

Monday, November 28th, 2011

ORTHODOX MUSLIMS cannot wage all out war on the U.S. and expect to win. But they have a religious obligation to participate in jihad in some way in order to eventually subjugate all countries under Islamic law, including the U.S. There are more devious ways to conquer than straightforward war, however. In the excerpt below, from an article by Anis Shorrosh, author of Islam Revealed, shares what he sees as the “Islamists’ 20-year plan” to conquer the U.S. As you will see, many of these things are already being done.

1. Terminate America’s freedom of speech by replacing it with statewide and nationwide hate-crime bills.

2. Wage a war of words using black leaders like Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Jesse Jackson and other visible religious personalities who promote Islam as the religion of African-Americans while insisting Christianity is for whites only. What they fail to tell African-Americans is that it was Arab Muslims who captured them and sold them as slaves. In fact, the Arabic word for black and slave is the same, ”Abed.”

3. Engage the American public in dialogues, discussions, debates in colleges, universities, public libraries, radio, TV, churches and mosques on the virtues of Islam. Proclaim how it is historically another religion like Judaism and Christianity with the same monotheistic faith.

4. Nominate Muslim sympathizers to political office to bring about favorable legislation toward Islam and support potential sympathizers by block voting.

5. Take control of as much of Hollywood, the press, TV, radio and the Internet as possible by buying the related corporations or a controlling stock.

6. Yield to the fear of the imminent shut-off of the lifeblood of America – black gold. America’s economy depends on oil and 41 percent of it comes from the Middle East.

7. Yell ”foul, out-of-context, personal interpretation, hate crime, Zionist, un- American, inaccurate interpretation of the Quran” anytime Islam is criticized or the Quran is analyzed in the public arena.

8. Encourage Muslims to penetrate the White House, specifically with Islamists who can articulate a marvelous and peaceful picture of Islam. Acquire government positions and get membership in local school boards. Train Muslims as medical doctors to dominate the medical field, research and pharmaceutical companies. (Ever notice how numerous Muslim doctors in America are, when their countries need them more desperately than America?) Take over the computer industry. Establish Middle Eastern restaurants throughout the U.S. to connect planners of Islamization in a discreet way.

9. Accelerate Islamic demographic growth via:

* Massive immigration (100,000 annually since 1961).

* Use no birth control whatsoever – every baby of Muslim parents is automatically a Muslim and cannot choose another religion later.

* Muslim men must marry American women and Islamize them (10,000 annually). Then divorce them and remarry every five years – since one can’t legally marry four at one time. This is a legal solution in America.

* Convert angry, alienated black inmates and turn them into militants (so far 2,000 released inmates have joined al-Qaida worldwide). Only a few ”sleeper cells” have been captured in Afghanistan and on American soil.

10. Reading, writing, arithmetic and research through the American educational system, mosques and student centers (now 1,500) should be sprinkled with dislike of Jews, evangelical Christians and democracy. There are currently 300 exclusively Muslim schools in the U.S. which teach loyalty to the Quran, not the U.S. Constitution. In January of 2002, Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Washington mailed 4,500 packets of the Quran and videos promoting Islam to America’s high schools – free of charge. Saudi Arabia would not allow the U.S. to reciprocate.

11. Provide very sizable monetary Muslim grants to colleges and universities in America to establish ”Centers for Islamic studies” with Muslim directors to promote Islam in higher-education institutions.

12. Let the entire world know through propaganda, speeches, seminars, local and national media that terrorists have hijacked Islam, when in truth, Islam hijacked the terrorists.

13. Appeal to the historically compassionate and sensitive Americans for sympathy and tolerance towards Muslims in America who are portrayed as mainly immigrants from oppressed countries.

14. Nullify America’s sense of security by manipulating the intelligence community with misinformation. Periodically terrorize Americans with reports of impending attacks on bridges, tunnels, water supplies, airports, apartment buildings and malls.

15. Form riots and demonstrations in the prison system demanding Islamic Sharia as the way of life, not America’s justice system.

16. Open numerous charities throughout the U.S., but use the funds to support Islamic terrorism with American dollars.

17. Raise interest in Islam on America’s campuses by insisting freshman take at least one course on Islam.

18. Unify the numerous Muslim lobbies in Washington, mosques, Islamic student centers, educational organizations, magazines and papers by Internet and an annual convention to coordinate plans, propagate the faith and engender news in the media.

19. Send intimidating messages and messengers to the outspoken individuals who are critical of Islam and seek to eliminate them by hook or crook.

20. Applaud Muslims as loyal citizens of the U.S. by spotlighting their voting record as the highest percentage of all minority and ethic groups in America.

Shorrosh is a member of the Oxford Society of Scholars, has traveled in 76 countries, and is a lecturer and producer of TV documentaries. Islam Revealed is a bestseller now in its eighth printing. His forthcoming 10th book, from which the 20-point plan is abridged, is titled ”Islam: A Threat or a Challenge.”

It Will Get Worse in Egypt

During the early Bronze Age of Egypt (c. 3100 BC, also known as the Early Dynastic Period of Egypt) the pharaohs were melting more than just bronze, they were fashioning gold into bars to be used as currency in commercial transactions.

Today, Egypt’s currency is on the brink of collapse. This past summer Khairi Abaza, a former senior official of Egypt’s Wafd party, warned that if Egypt’s current military leaders failed to allow the Egyptian pound to float the country was likely to come close to having no hard currency reserves by the end of the year and in addition, “risk sparking a new round of uprisings by the hungry and the unemployed.” (1)

Well, the end of the year is near and so is the collapse:

Spengler, Looting the Egyptian Currency: Democracy in Action

The ugly denouement of the so-called Egyptian Spring is visible in the collapse of Egypt’s stock exchange (down 11% in the first three days of this week) and the impending collapse of the Egyptian pound, as residents and foreigners flee to hard currency. A unique sort of brutality characterizes Egypt’s currency crisis: banks cannot meet the demand for currency because it is impossible transport bank notes. Mobs hijack the armored cars, as Al Ahram reported today:

“Armoured money transfer vehicles were not safe anymore because law breakers take advantage and target the vehicles for a hijack,” Khalil said. “Transferring dollars between banks and exchange companies has become worrying more than ever.”

Now, that’s something new and nasty under the sun. I’ve observed first-hand the collapse of national currencies in Peru, Nicaragua, Russia and other blighted countries, but a breakdown of the rule of law to the point that banks cannot transport currency is something new.

Things will only get worse, but don’t expect to read about it in the mainstream press – such reporting will only show how inept President Obama really is in foreign matters, especially Muslim matters. Recall it was only a few years ago in Cairo that Obama said Egypt represented “the harmony between tradition and progress.

Now we see that Egypt may soon destroy the ancient artifacts of the country – so much for tradition.

If early elections are held, the Muslim Brotherhood is likely to be the main victors who will install the Shariah as the law of the land – so much for progress.

Notes

FT.com, Time to stop propping up Egypt’s currency

The biggest worry, however, is Egypt’s currency. The military caretakers are deploying foreign reserves to try and prop up the Egyptian pound, with the result that reserves have dropped from bn to bn in three months. If this trend accelerates Egypt is likely to come close to having no hard currency reserves by the end of the year. Market speculation and sales of pound-denominated holdings could then follow, plausibly leading to a currency collapse, and yet more economic and political turmoil.

Catholics and Muslims pursue dialogue amid Mideast tension

Sunday, November 27th, 2011

(Archbishop and mufti at the Catholic-Muslim Forum, 24 Nov 2011/Tom Heneghan)

Only five years ago, critical remarks by Pope Benedict about Islam sparked off violent protests in several Muslim countries. Never very good, relations between the world’s two largest religions sank to new lows in modern times.

This week, while protesters in the Arab world were demanding democracy and civil rights, Catholics and Muslims met along the Jordan River for frank and friendly talks about their differences and how to get beyond their misunderstandings.

The Catholic-Muslim Forum, which grew out of the tensions following Benedict’s speech in the German city of Regensburg, was overshadowed by events in Egypt, Yemen and Syria. The lack of any dramatic news here reflected the progress the two sides have made since 2006.

“We have passed from formal dialogue to a dialogue between friends,” Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, head of the Vatican’s department for interfaith dialogue, said at the conference held near the Jordan River site believed to be where Jesus was baptised. “We realised that we have a common heritage,”

(The Baptism Site in Jordan, 23 Nov 2011/Tom Heneghan)

Recalling the strains that prompted Muslims to suggest a dialogue in 2007, Jordan’s Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad bin Talal said: “Since then, despite some misunderstandings, I dare say the general Muslim-Catholic ambiance has ameliorated considerably.”

The 24 Catholic and 24 Muslim religious leaders, scholars and educators meeting here debated how each religion uses reason to strengthen insight into its beliefs. Roman Catholicism has long argued that faith without reason can breed superstition while nihilism can emerge from reason without faith.

This was the core message of Benedict’s Regensburg speech, but it was drowned out when he quoted a 14th century Byzantine emperor describing Islam as violent and irrational. Radical Islamists responded with violent protests.

Critique of Pure Islam

Saturday, November 26th, 2011

WHEN SOMEONE says that some of the passages of the Quran are violent, and that Islam itself is political, what do you call that? It’s an important question. Strangely enough, I’ve heard it called “racist,” which seems very odd. Islam is not a race.

I’ve also heard it called “Islamophobia,” which is also strange, because it is not a phobia.

It is religious criticism. But it’s more than that, because Islam is not merely a religion. Islam is also a political system with political goals. So instead of racism or Islamophobia, we could call it religious or political criticism.

But if you call it that, there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with it. In a free society, it is a perfectly legitimate activity to criticize religious doctrines and political systems. It’s perfectly all right, for example, to point out that the Catholic church frowns upon birth control, or that communism and free enterprise are incompatible.

So when someone explains the political ideology contained in the Quran, it is a completely legitimate activity, and anyone who calls it racism or Islamophobia either doesn’t understand what they’re saying, or, more likely, they are trying to censor the person. That kind of censorship is out of line in a free society.

The fact that exponents of pure Islam will not tolerate criticism of Islam is one of the main criticisms of Islam. The fact that the Quran itself is adamant about disallowing any criticism of the Quran (and calls for a death sentence for doing so) is one of the most legitimate things to criticize about the Quran.

If someone doesn’t hire a Muslim simply because the applicant is a Muslim, that is discrimination, and that’s a different issue. If someone beats up a Muslim because he’s a Muslim, that is a hate crime and is illegal, immoral, and should be punished.

But criticism of Islamic doctrine? It can and should be done.

Where it gets tricky is immigration laws. There has to be some selection. If you have a Muslim applying for immigration, what do you do? The person himself may not be in favor of following the violent instructions in the Quran, but how do we know? Because he is a Muslim, and because the Quran contains political goals and ideas, he is more likely to be subversive and ascribe to doctrines that we would consider treasonous than the average applicant.

What do we do about that? If anybody has some answers, let’s hear it (in comments). This is, I believe, one of the most important issues that arises out of the study of the Quran and the Sunnah.

One possibility, of course, is to stop Muslim immigration.

It is also possible to give an immigration applicant a lie-detector test and ask about their intentions within our country. In the U.S. they have to learn a little about the country and swear an oath of alleigance, but under taqiyya, a Muslim with the intention of helping to overthrow the government would be allowed by Islamic doctrine to swear the oath without intending to keep it, so that requirement is not enough.

Another possibility is to allow Muslims in, but really crack down on preaching jihad within the country. Most countries have laws against sedition or treason, but so far as I know, no country has enforced those laws against Muslims preaching in mosques. But once the precedent was set, it would be a straightforward matter. (Read more about the relationship between sedition and Sharia here.)

Are there better ideas? Let’s compile them here in the comments for easy reading by voters and politicians. We need a solution. It would be foolish for democratic countries to keep importing people who want to overthrow their government. Not all Muslims do, of course. But pure Islam, straight from the Quran and the Sunnah, is very clear about the obligation to wage jihad and establish universal Sharia law. That means overthrowing democratic governments.

The longer we ignore this issue, the bigger the problem will be when we finally tackle it.

The immigration issue is open for discussion. But the freedom to openly discuss and criticize Islamic doctrine is not an issue at all. We have the right to freely discuss it. Period.

Whole Foods Should Not Hire Muslims

Saturday, November 26th, 2011

I have written a number of articles warning American companies not to employ those of the Islamic faith. When the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed no one took Islam into consideration for the portion of the law now known as Title VII which “prohibits employers from discriminating against individuals because of their religion in hiring, firing, and other terms and conditions of employment. Employers must reasonably accommodate employees’ sincerely held religious beliefs or practices unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on the employer.”

Ay, there’s the rub, the law rarely recognizes any accommodation as an undue hardship on the employer. Suppose there was a religion that required the faithful to take a three-hour nap in the afternoon? Would that be an undue hardship? I don’t think it would be found to be so since the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission did not find 5 prayers a day an undue hardship when it ruled against Electrolux Home Products in St. Cloud, Minnesota even thought the production line had to be completely stopped every time Muslims needed to pray. There are more than 150 Muslim employees at that plant and it’s impossible to have production continue while they pray.

Imagine you hire a Muslim cashier and she won’t handle bacon. Is that an undue hardship on your grocery business? Target made the mistake of hiring a Muslim cashier. I give many more such examples in my article 13 Things to Consider before Hiring Muslims.

Now let us consider what happened to Whole Foods recently when they fired Glenn Mack Jr., a 24-year-old Muslim man for absenteeism. Before any of my Muslim readers cry Islamophobia, allow me to mention that Whole Foods is a company that is actually too nice to Muslims. According to PhillyNow (A blog about Philadelphia by Philadelphia Weekly) , “Whole Foods was recently credited and thanked by CAIR for being the first national supermarket chain with a Ramadan food promotion.”

But that did not keep them from being sued for firing a Muslim. Here’s the story:

TheBlaze.com, 10 Nov 2011,
Muslim Man Claims Whole Foods Fired Him Because of His Faith

Glenn Mack Jr. fired from Whole FoodsAccording to Mack, he didn’t start experiencing problems in the workplace until his supervisors learned that he would be taking vacation time for Hajj — an Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Mack had planned to take the 18-day trip back in November 2010 and he says that he let his supervisors know about his plans two months ahead of time. But before his vacation, he claims that his bosses told him that he needed to make a choice between taking his trip and keeping his job.

Regardless of the alleged choice presented, Mack chose to go on his trip. But when he returned, he said he was downgraded to a part-time employee and subsequently terminated.

But that is the way of Muslims – given a choice between keeping a job and doing what they want, they choose to do what they want and sue on the ground of religious discrimination.

As I have written many times, a company will not get in trouble firing Muslims if they never hire them. Whole Foods would do well to read my article Do Not Hire Muslims.

I Took My Wife Hunting this Deer Season

Friday, November 25th, 2011

As some of my readers know, I live in New Jersey where white-tailed deer are quite abundant. In order to maintain a healthy deer herd my state makes available more than 750,000 acres of public land for deer hunters.

I have been hunting for a number of years but I’ve never gone with my wife. But this season I finally decided to take her hunting with me.

She was so happy she asked if she could guest blog about it. The following is her report:

My sweet husband invited me to go hunting with him this year. I couldn’t believe it, the first time ever…after all these years.

I never thought he’d be willing to share his’ guy time’ with me and being the thoughtful man that he is he even gave me an opening day present. He calls it “The First Timers Lucky Hat.”’

I’m so fortunate to be married to him.

I have attached a picture of me in my lucky hat, and we can hardly wait until “opening day!”

lucky dear hat

Disclaimer: I’m not a hunter, never hunted in my life. The above “article” from my wife is actually an email from Constant reader B.W.

13 Worst Countries for Women

I have previously written articles on The 13 Most Dangerous Countries in the World and The 13 Worst Countries for Christian Persecution. Today I would like to add 13 of the worst Countries for Women.

The following 13 were picked from the World Economic Forum‘s recent 2011 Global Gender Gap Report.

Ranking was done by measuring the gap between men and women on 14 variables in 4 key areas: women’s access to education; women’s health and survival by measures of life expectancy and sex ratio; economic participation and opportunity; and political empowerment.

The report ranks 135 countries. Here are the 13 bottom ranked countries for gender equality and the percentage of Muslims in that country:

Country Rank % Muslim
Egypt 123 90
Syria 124 74
Iran 125 99
Nepal 126 4
Oman 127 100
Benin 128 24
Morocco 129 98
Cote d’Ivoire 130 38
Saudi Arabia 131 100
Mali 132 90
Pakistan 133 97
Chad 134 53
Yemen 135 99

If you are wondering what Muslims and gender inequality have to do with each other please allow me to point out that almost every Muslim country in the world is in the bottom half of the the Global Gender Gap Report and has been so since the World Economic Forum began compiling these reports.

Unfortunately, the Gap Report is not comprehensive, it did not consider Somalia [100% Muslim], Afghanistan [99%], Iraq [97%], or the Sudan [70%], countries which happen to be the most dangerous in the world for women. My next Thursday 13 will rank the 13 Most Dangerous Countries in the World for Women.

This has been a Thursday 13 post [# 68] and is updated on some Thursdays.
